Why asbestos still matters in UK building stock
Asbestos remains the single biggest cause of work-related death in Great Britain. HSE figures indicate roughly 5,000 asbestos-related deaths each year, including 2,218 mesothelioma deaths recorded in 2023. The risk has not gone away because the material is still in place: blue and brown asbestos (amosite and crocidolite) were banned in 1985, and white asbestos (chrysotile) only in 1999. Any building put up or refurbished before 2000 may still contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).

Surveys: Management, Refurb & Demolition
We locate and assess ACMs to HSG264. A management survey supports day-to-day occupation and your asbestos register; a refurbishment & demolition survey is fully intrusive before works or demolition. Sampling is analysed by an independent UKAS-accredited laboratory.
Air monitoring, inspections & consultancy
Independent air monitoring and four-stage clearance to HSG248, periodic re-inspection to keep your register current, and duty-holder consultancy on registers, management plans and next steps. Reassurance testing confirms a space is safe to reoccupy.
Removal, encapsulation & disposal
Where ACMs must be removed, we plan the safe route — encapsulate, manage or remove — followed by clearance air testing to below 0.01 f/cm³. Non-licensed and licensed work is scoped honestly; hazardous waste is disposed of via licensed carriers.
